Easter Sunday

Easter weekend was very busy as we traveled to Kansas and Missouri for the weekend after moving to Bella Vista, AR. First we went to Kansas on Saturday for my dad's side of the family's Easter. We got to visit with family and hunt Easter eggs. Unfortunately I have no pictures as we could not find our camera to take that weekend. However, I will ask my dad if he has any so I can post them soon! That Saturday evening we drove to Nevada for the Farmer's Easter celebration. We stayed Saturday night and woke up Sunday morning to an easter egg hunt/easter baskets for the kids. Later that day we ate a wonderful lunch, made by Ron and Rhonda, and did a larger easter egg hunt outside, along with a pinata. Ashlyn and even Ronnie got to participate in the easter egg hunt/pinata. I enjoyed holding Breckyn and sitting in the sun while watching the festivities. It was a wonderful weekend and thanks to all who made it happen! We love you and enjoy spending time with you all.

Coming Soon: More Easter pics from the weekend, 4 mo. pic of Breckyn w/ her bear, and pics of our new house! I'll try to get them posted as soon as I can.

Pics my mom took--3/27

Here's some pictures of the girls my mom took when she came to visit.

Breckyn's 4 mo. update

Breckyn is already 4 mo. old! Can't believe how fast time flies with having children. Seems like yesterday when we brought her home from the hospital. Breckyn went to the doctor for her 4 mo. check-up on 3/31. The doctor weighed her at 14.5 lbs. and measured her at 26 in. She said she was in the 75th percentile in weight and 95th in height. Looks like she gonna be tall like her sis. Breckyn also got her shots and did really good. I sent Ashlyn out while she got them this time, because Ashlyn doesn't do well watching Breckyn get her shots. However, when the nurse sent Ashlyn back in she had still cried, bless her heart. Breckyn is still drinking soy formula, about 6-8 oz. per bottle. She has yet to try cereal and solid foods. The doctor gave us the okay, but I'm going to wait until I feel she needs it. Lately Breckyn been doing some new things, such as finding her feet and grabbing them, especially when I'm trying to change her diaper, little squirt! She's starting to have a better grasp on her toys and puts them straight to her mouth to chew on. Also, she can now roll from her belly to her back. Breckyn enjoys sitting in her "Bumbo", a little chair that helps her sit up straight. I think she feels like a big girl when I stick her in it. Also, I've put her in her high chair for a few minutes to do something, even though she hasn't starting eating yet. Breckyn's been an easy-going baby, loves to be cuddled and rocked, and sit outside on sunny days. She's been sleeping through the night, about 8hrs a night. I'd say that's pretty good. Here's some pictures of Breckyn during her 4th month.

Update on us

Hello everyone! Sorry it's been awhile since I last posted something on my blog..we've been very busy!! So many of you have already heard we found a nice house in Bella Vista, AR to rent and we are moving at the end of March. We are so excited to have found such a lovely home and can't wait to move all of our stuff into it! April 1st and 2nd are the days we will be moving and luckily we have our wonderful families to help us. The house is located up in the hills and surrounded by trees. There are other houses around, however they aren't too close. The house is 3 bedroom and will be perfect for us. Here are a few pictures many of you have already seen, but I'll post them anyway.

Recently we just bought a new couch and loveseat. There's nothing wrong with our other couch, however we wanted something that would fit easier in our living room. So now we are trying to sell that one and so far it seems there's a few people interested. Our new couch is a chocolate brown color we thought would look really nice in our new house.

We also just ordered Breckyn's baby bed. It's a beautiful dark expresso color. She's been sleeping in her bassinet since we brought her home and is finally starting to outgrow it. I'm sure she'll be happy to stretch out in her new baby bed when it comes! Here's what it looks like (it's really small!).

Breckyn just recently started playing in her bouncer. She looks so cute sitting in it. She has yet to bounce up and down in it.

Breckyn likes to watch Ashlyn..she's reaching for her hair.

Last weekend we went to visit grandma Rhonda and Pepa. Ashlyn got to make cupcakes with grandma and did a wonderful job. Grandma Ann, aunt Linda, uncle Randy, and Heather came to visit over the weekend. It was nice seeing everyone as we haven't seen them since Christmas. It was also nice just spending the weekend with grandma Rhonda and Pepa.

This weekend we've just been relaxing at home, watching the snow fall, however I believe it's starting to melt now. Grandma Becky and Taylor came over today to spend some time with us. Can't wait for nice spring weather once again so we can play outside! This week is our Spring Break, so that means it will be very slow at work. Maybe I'll have some time to pack boxes! Hope everyone enjoys their week!

Weekend with Grandpa Steve

This weekend the family got to spend Saturday and Sunday with Grandpa Steve. We were so happy to see him as we haven't seen him since Breckyn was born. Grandpa arrived Friday night around 9:30 and spent Friday and Saturday night in Ashlyn's bed and Ashlyn slept in her sleeping bag nearby. Ashlyn was super excited to see Grandpa and enjoyed playing with Grandpa Steve all weekend outside. Ashlyn got to fly her first kite as the wind was blowing pretty good on Saturday. We all took a turn with the kite. Ronnie and I haven't flown a kite since we were kids. It was nice lounging on the grass on a warm Saturday afternoon. We then took a stroll in the park near our house. It was Breckyn's second time being outside. She didn't really enjoy it too much and we left early. Before we left, however, we took a picture of our family on the bridge. On Sunday Taylor joined us and Grandpa Steve and the kids played outside most of the day while Breckyn and I stayed in. We are so glad to have spent the weekend with Grandpa and can't wait for his return on Easter weekend!

A 3 month update

Breckyn is already 3 months old! She's been very busy these days as she's more alert and as Ronnie says "ready to party". Breckyn has been very interested in her toys as she likes to "bat" at them and grab them with her little hands. As you can see in one of her pictures she has a hold of one of her rattles. We've been doing a lot of "tummy time" in which Breckyn enjoys for a few minutes. She is able to hold her head up almost 90 degrees. What a big girl! At daycare they put her in a seat for infants that helps them sit up and she holds her head up very well. Breckyn continues to smile but has yet to laugh. She "talks" a lot in the mornings after her bottle. We're not sure how much she weighs or how long she is, but we're guessing she's gained a few pounds as she's been eating 6 oz. per feeding. Ashlyn is enjoying her more as she talks to Breckyn and continues to read her books. We're are so blessed with our two wonderful daughters. Ashlyn has been learning how to rhyme words and say "opposites". She is such a helpful big sister as she sometimes feeds Breckyn on our car rides home.
Here is Breckyn in her 3 month picture with her teddy.

With big sister, Ashlyn

I can hold my rattle all by myself!
