A Weekend of Fun

I can't believe how fast time is going by as February is already ending and Breckyn is almost 3 months old! We've done some fun things since I last posted on my blog. Last Sunday we took the kids to "Precious Moments" in Carthage and spent some time looking around at all the pretty statues and chapel. Ashlyn seemed to enjoy our time there, however we wished it would have been sunny that day. I'm sure we would have enjoyed it more if we didn't have to walk in the rain over to the chapel! Next time we'll plan a little better and go when it's warm and sunny and can take a nice stroll through the park. We bought Ashlyn a little heart-shaped jewelry box with her birth stone on top of it as a memento.

Here we are in front of a huge statue inside the gift shop.

Next we braved the lunch-time crowd at Chuck-E-Cheese's to have some pizza and play games. Breckyn and I sat at the table and watched while Ronnie and Ashlyn played games.

On Friday Ashlyn had a "surprise" at daycare. Two clowns came and put on a 30 minute show for the kids and the kids all got to participate. Ashlyn said her favorite part of it was helping the clowns with a magic trick. She really liked the lady clown's heart dress and clown make-up and thought the guy clown was really goofy. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get any pictures as I was at work, but it sounds like she had a good time!

This Saturday we went to Tulsa for cousin Paisley's 1st birthday party. It was a long car ride there and back as Breckyn decided she didn't want to rest and cried most of the car ride. We had a good time visiting with family and watching Paisley dive into her cake and open presents. Ashlyn played with a bunch of little girls that were at the party. There was a "tree house" type thing in the building where the girls spent most of their time. They took Paisley's tissue paper and decorated the "tree house". It was nice to get out of the house and go somewhere for the day. Thanks Brandon and Taylor for a fun-filled afternoon!

Ashlyn playing dominoes at Brandon and Taylor's house. Grandma Becky taught her to place them next to each other and then push one to knock them all down. She could spend hours doing this!

Since the weather is really nice today, Ronnie had to work at the golf course. I got to take the girls outside after being cooped up in the house for so long! Ashlyn rode her bike, practiced hitting balls with her golf clubs, and colored with side-walk chalk and blew bubbles. Breckyn and I walked around and enjoyed the sun.

One day Ashlyn was laying beside Breckyn on the bed and I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures of them.

Breckyn looked too cute sleeping with her arms up by her head :)

Photo Shoot

Today my mom and Taylor came over to visit and my mom of course brought her camera. Ashlyn has been sick the last couple of days so it's good to see her feeling well again. We've decided to spend the weekend relaxing at home. Here's some pictures my mom took of the girls...

Grandma Becky got Breckyn a little floppy hat.

Ashlyn's wearing Grandma Becky's cowboy hat and her pink boots Grandma Rhonda and Pepa got her.

Ashlyn also decided that she was ready to change Breckyn's diaper for the first time. Of course, it had to be a wet diaper not a poopy diaper. It was the first and probably the last time she'll change diapers as she didn't enjoy it much :) Breckyn looks happy though!

Happy Valentines Day!

This weekend Ashlyn and Breckyn spent Saturday night with Grandma Rhonda and Pepa and Mommy and Daddy had a date! I think the kids enjoyed their time away from us, as Ashlyn has been VERY bored at home. We enjoyed spending the evening together, eating some good food and listening to some live entertainment. But we were so happy to have our kids back home with us today to celebrate Valentines day. We missed them! Ashlyn got to open her Valentines day gift from Mom and Dad. She got a cool glow stick and lots of candy! Breckyn got lots of hugs and kisses.

Ashlyn's "I Love.." project: Ashlyn colored several heart shapes and then I wrote down things, people or activities that she "loves." Here are some we wrote down:

I love...

Mom and Dad
Breckyn
Grandparents
Lola
Reading books to Breckyn
Going to "school"
Candy
Playing outside
Going on walks
Helping mommy clean

As I was writing and listening to Ashlyn it made me realize how simple her list was. If only we realized how wonderful life is through the simple things everyday.

Ashlyn mentioned in her "I Love.." project that she likes to read to Breckyn. We snapped a few pictures of her reading to Breckyn her "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" book. Ashlyn has the book memorized, so she felt pretty special reading to her sister. When Breckyn gets a little older, I know she'll appreciate it more. One of my favorite things when I was little was when my sister would read to me. :)

And finally, here are a couple more pictures of the girls...

A Clarification

I got some feedback on the "Bathtime with Breckyn" post of the video of Breckyn getting a bath at the hospital. Apparently quite a few people thought I was the one giving Breckyn her bath, but it was the nurse that was scrubbing on her head during her bath, not me! Haha..:) Hence the rubber gloves.

Big Sister, Little Bunny...

Ashlyn chillin with Lola watching cartoons...they are good buds.

Our little bunny rabbit.

She looks too cute!

Saturday we went to grandma and grandpa Tullis's house and spent time with them and my cousin Brandon, his wife Taylor, and their baby Paisley. Here Ashlyn is with baby Paisley. She's almost 1!

Bathtime with Breckyn...that frown is priceless!

Identical? Yes or No.....

Ronnie and I looked at some pictures over the weekend of Ashlyn when she was a baby and found out that Breckyn looks VERY similar to Ashlyn when she was 2 mo. old. What do you all think? Can you guess who is who? One's face is round and the other's is more oval shaped.

Picture time!

Here's some pictures we took over the weekend.

Ronnie and Ashlyn played dress-up. Ronnie was the "King" and Ashlyn was the "Princess".
